PLANS for an outdoor bar to replace the volleyball court at Mindarie Marina and changes to parking are out for public consultation.

The City of Wanneroo has invited submissions on two applications at the marina until December 4.

One relates to creating an outdoor bar and children’s entertainment area where the sand volleyball court currently sits.

It will include seating areas, a cinema screen with no audio, a sand pit and bouncy castle.

The outdoor venue would accommodate up to 150 people, including staff, and the proposed operating hours are noon to 10pm seven days a week.

The other application relates to a fencing and landscaping plan for the parking area to create a boat storage facility on the corner of Ocean Falls Boulevard and Anchorage Drive.

It proposes to build a 1.8m high fence around 27 existing boat and trailer parking bays, install mature landscaping to screen it from view from the street and install CCTV and lighting.

A traffic assessment found that section of the car park was unoccupied about 90 per cent of the time over three weekend study periods in August and September.
