Pupils take opportunity to take music notes from professional

The Irene McCormack Catholic College Year 10 and 11 students took part in a two-day song-writing workshop, learning about the music industry as well.

"The students formed groups of four and were set the task of creating an original song," head of performing arts Kylie Malam said.

"Day two took the songs from an idea to reality " the pieces created by the students were recorded, mixed and ready to be heard.

"Many genres were explored from acoustic, to blues, to rock. The 16 students are to be commended for their enthusiasm and professionalism.
