Purple reigns at Clarkson hardware store workshop

Lucy JarvisNorth Coast Times

A PURPLE-clad social group took over the work stations in a Clarkson hardware store last month to make stands for their red hats.

The Red Hat Society’s Sassy Sisters chapter, which covers suburbs from Mindarie to Yanchep, held a hat stand-making workshop in Bunnings on July 27.

Chapter queen, Anna ‘Queen Hot to Trot’ Eastment said the social networking group planned a variety of events for women to try while enjoying each other’s company.

“It’s about friendship and sisterhood and fun,” the Butler resident said.

“We do things all over Perth.”

Ms Eastment said she joined the society, which encourages women to wear purple clothes and red hats when they meet, about seven years ago.

“I’ve done things I never would have dreamed I would do,” she said.

“It’s just a great opportunity to join in and have fun.”
