Reading program music to parents’ ears

Staff ReporterNorth Coast Times

Ngala Merriwa has started The Song Room’s reading bug program for children aged up to five to help develop early literacy by connecting music to reading books.

‘The program has been enjoyed by both parents and children involved,’ Ngala’s Paula Taylor said.

‘For babies and toddlers the music and songs teach a fun way to explore reading and storytelling, while parents learn tips and how to develop effective pre-reading habits.’

Ngala received funding for the program from The Good Guys Clarkson.
