A MARMION teacher will turn her school red this Friday to raise awareness about cystic fibrosis.
Beckii Haines, who teaches pre-primary at Marmion Primary School, has co-ordinated a fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis WAs annual 65 roses campaign on May 29.
On Friday, the school community will wear red and fundraise through a make and sell stall, after-school picnic and silent auction of artwork.
Ms Haines said having a student with the disease prompted her to learn more about cystic fibrosis and spread awareness.
I think the most shocking part for me is how CF affects a persons entire life their nutrition, their exercise, their daily schedule, its everything, she said.
As a school, its nice to feel that we are trying to make a difference and raise awareness and put money towards services for those families that are dealing with it every day.
May is Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month.
