A MOSAIC mural at Fisherman’s Hollow in Yanchep will be transferred to a new toilet block.

The mural and other upgrades at the picnic spot near Yanchep Lagoon were discussed at the March 23 Two Rocks Yanchep Residents Association meeting.

Secretary Lorraine Jackson said the City of Wanneroo had informed the association it would remove the mural from the toilet block and reinstate it on a new building.

Ms Jackson said the City’s upgrades also included providing new play equipment.

“I would like to see council provide shade sails over play equipment,” she said.

According to the City’s website, the upgrades are part of the lagoon redevelopment, with a trails master plan and landscaping also planned.

“The new toilet facilities at Fisherman’s Hollow will be a modern like-for-like replacement of the existing facility,” the website said.

“It will be located directly to the north on the current toilet block.

“Design for the new facility is currently being finalised and construction is expected to occur in 2015-16.

“The mural on the existing facility will be relocated to the new facility.

“Landscaping works along the new Brazier Road will be undertaken in early winter 2015.

“It is anticipated that bench seating and shower points near the beach access opposite Fishermans Hollow will occur shortly after.”

The City also plans to redevelop Picnic Cove, north of the lagoon and site for the proposed Yanchep Surf Life Saving Club and public amenities building.
