Organised by local business Empire Events Management, the competition provides anglers an opportunity to show off their fishing skills to win a $200 BCF voucher.

Organiser Virginia Dziegielewski said all proceeds from registrations would go to Two Rocks Volunteer Marine Rescue.

“This is a fun day for fishing enthusiasts, it gives fishers a reason to get out on the water and show off their fishing skills, and in this instance, it helps to raise much-needed funds for marine rescue,” she said.

“There will be a mystery weight for each fish category and the person who catches the fish closest to the mystery weight will win the prize.

“Reel It In costs only $10 per adult shore fishing, $5 per child and $20 per boat to enter the competition.”

Mrs Dziegielewski said Pindan, developers for The Reef, Two Rocks had supported the May 4 (now May 11) competition, which provided the community with some much-needed recreational activities for the area.

“Our marina and laid back lifestyle truly are the jewel in the crown in Two Rocks,” she said.

“It is still very much a fishing village with many locals being boat owners or are connected to the water somehow whether it be fishing, surfing, surf lifesaving or just enjoying the beach.”

Presentations will be held at Tavern at the Rocks, Two Rocks, with live music playing from 1.15pm.
