SANTA will visit Yanchep and Two Rocks families early this Christmas Eve.

In a long-running tradition for the area, Santa and the local volunteer fire brigades will visit 16 parks on Christmas Eve to give out treats to children.

Yanchep Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service (YVFRS) Lieutenant Dean Holmes said the annual Santa Run was a way to bring festive cheer to the community.

“There is something pretty magical about Santa arriving at your local park in a big red fire truck,” he said.

“As well as being a fun activity for the kids, it’s a great way for residents to get to know their local fire fighters and to raise awareness of our role in the community.

“With so many new families moving into the area just in the past 12 months, we’re hoping to make this year’s Santa Run bigger and better than ever before.”

Mr Holmes said the fire trucks could accompany Santa if not called to attend fire emergencies.

The annual December 24 Santa Run event is a joint collaboration between the YVFRS and the Two Rocks Volunteer Bushfire Brigade.
