Yanchep school splashes out to end year

Lucy JarvisNorth Coast Times

Yanchep Beach Primary School held its second water fun day on December 4 to celebrate the end of the school year.

Children enjoyed a day of cool fun on water slides, climbing and getting drenched ahead of the summer holidays, which start on December 18.

Principal Matt Jarman said the school had enjoyed a great second year, growing from less than 300 when it started to about 570 students for the start of 2016.

“The reward day was a chance to say thank you to the marvellous behaviour and work standards from our students and also to dangle the carrot for 2016 that with hard work comes with some fun,” he said.

“We like the idea that students have fun in our school, in lots of different ways.

“It helps deepen the relationship between home and school, which is really important; particularly when there is often financial and other pressure and anxieties faced by parents and students alike.

“We are still determined to be a new school of high academic and behavioural standards where students feel cared for and relaxed.”
