School’s in for Alkimos with two primaries set to open by 2017

Mr Collier said two school sites, the first in the Trinity estate and the second in the southwest of the suburb, would open in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

The schools were part of a $1.16 billion, four-year capital works program for education in the State Budget, which will include 16 public primary schools and three secondary schools open ing across WA by 2018.

Mr Collier said the schools would support WA’s rapidly growing population.

‘We have a record 283,000 students in public schools this year and are forecasting increases of about 3 per cent a year for the next few years,’ he said.
