Smoothy swim a first for Quinns Baptist College

A MINDARIE girl will follow in her brother’s strokes in this weekend’s Rottnest Channel Swim.

Esther Smoothy (17) is the first female student from Quinns Baptist College to attempt the solo swim from Cottesloe to Rottnest Island.

Last year her brother Sam was the first student to tackle the challenge.

Several of Esther’s peers will do the 19.7km open water swim on February 27 in pairs, including Bryn Norman, Zane Balodis, Megan Geldart, Jessica Wasley, Sarah Whitney and Lee Dennis.
