Step into spotlight

President Ted Dowling said the group, which runs the nomadic Little Mermaid Theatre, was looking for students aged six to 16 and adults for its upcoming productions.

‘If acting is not your thing, then come and learn the other side to theatre,’ he said.

‘For our nativity scene in the park on December 6 and our production A Tribute to the Anzacs in April 2015, we will need scriptwriters, assistant directors, lighting and sound techs, stagehands, costume team, set designers and tutors for acting and dance.’

Mr Dowling, a Yanchep resident, said he had written to community groups and schools inviting them to join in the 2015 Anzac Day production, which will mark 100 years since the Gallipoli landing.

‘The proposed production Ceasefire will be staged in the Phil Renkin Recreation Centre,’ he said.

‘A cast of all ages contrasts the lifestyle of families at war in 1915 and 2015, and salutes all Australians who fought overseas or supported them back at home.’

Atlantis Productions will hold a registration day next Wednesday, September 10, from 3.30pm to 6pm, at the Yanchep Community Centre.
