Stepping back for the brigade

Five years after joining the Quinns Rocks brigade in 2001, Mr Hord started up the Two Rocks brigade on his property.

The brigade ran out of his shed for seven years until a station was built in 2013, and Mr Hord stepped back from his role this month to give younger members a go.

He remains an active volunteer and lieutenant with the brigade, while Kye Carter has taken over as captain.
