A STOLEN car with stolen plates has been left abandoned over night on Marmion Avenue, near the Trinity sign in Jindalee.

The driver of the black Ford XR6 appears to have driven across a vacant block near Reflection Boulevard and mounted a limestone wall, causing damage to both the wall and the car.

Yanchep Sergeant Chris Wride said the car was stolen and appeared to have been abandoned, with the passenger side door left open.

“Investigations are underway and it will either be forensically tested on site or towed away and tested off site so we can identify who was driving it,” he said.

“The plates are stolen too and are not registered to the car, which is not uncommon unfortunately these days.”

Sgt Wride reminded drivers that anti-theft screws were a cheap way to prevent their licence plates from being stolen.

“They’re available from Bunnings for as cheap as $2,” he said.

“We’re planning to hold an open day at the police station later this year to show people how easy it can be to prevent this from happening to them.”
