Storm damages house under construction in Mindarie

STORMY weather has damaged a house under construction and a granny flat in Mindarie today.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the State Emergency Service had received five calls for assistance in the past 24 hours, with four made today.

She said one was for damage to the roof of a granny flat in Fawley Retreat in Mindarie, whiles others in Belmont, Stratham and Hillman were mainly for water damage.

Builders were also tidying up damage on building sites in Mindarie’s Catalina estate this morning.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a strong wind warning for Perth waters and much of the WA coastline today and a gale warning along the WA coast for Wednesday.
