Year 9 student Georgia Bowler said the talk on August 29 was filled with information about staying safe online and careers in the police force.

‘Sergeant Mallow talked to us about cyber bullying, online grooming, sexting, and other issues dealing with the safety of a digital world,’ she said.

‘He explained how being a teenager meant that we are vulnerable and more likely to be targeted by strange people online, and should have common sense about who we are accepting on social media sites, like Facebook. Not only did he give details and tips on how to watch out for strange people, he also went through how we might be accountable for something inappropriate and how to avoid those situations, as it reflects on you as a person for the rest of your life,’ she said.
