Sun shines on display

Sun City Artists’ Association will hold its first people’s choice awards Under the Australian Sun, in the Downstairs Gallery overlooking Two Rocks Marina.

The two-week exhibition, which opens this Saturday, October 2, will include works from Yanchep and Two Rocks artists using various mediums of paint, sculpture, photography and fabric.

President Beth Davis said it was the first exhibition where they had allowed local residents as well as members to enter pieces, and about 35 people had registered, most putting in two works.

‘It’s very nice to have opened it, but we still kept it local ” we did Two Rocks and Yanchep only because of space,’ she said.

Mrs Davis said visitors would get to vote on their favourite pieces, with prizes donated by local shops.
