Jaei-lea Bedford, the pensions and public relations officer for the Northern Suburbs Veterans Support Centre based in Quinns Rocks, said the centre aimed to provide free, confidential pension and welfare information for all veterans, service members and their dependents.

“It is an invaluable service for Defence members and their families,” Ms Bedford said.

“We operate an accessible pension and welfare service that provides a central reference point for all serving, ex-service defence members in the northern suburbs.

“We provide competent management of pension and welfare services in accordance with Department of Veterans Affairs policy and practice.”

Her son Aiden wore his father’s medals to the Anzac Day service at his school, Merriwa Primary, on April 8.

The service included a speech by Quinns Rocks RSL sub-branch president Peter Lofdahl and guests from the Australian Defence Force.

The Northern Suburbs Veterans Support Centre is based at Gumblossom Community Centre, Tapping Way, Quinns Rocks.
