Shorehaven at Alkimos developer Peet Limited removed barriers on the main road leading from Marmion Avenue to the beach last month

‘Peet’s focus in recent months has been on progressing key areas in and around Shorehaven, including the extension of Shorehaven Boulevard and the foreshore park,’ managing director and chief executive Brendan Gore said.

‘Shorehaven Boulevard has officially opened, which means residents can drive down to the Alkimos beachfront.

‘At the point where the road hits its ultimate terminus, residents can walk through the blowout area to reach the beach.

‘(However) take special care when venturing down to the beach ” Shorehaven Boulevard is so new that street lights and road markings are yet to be installed, and the beachfront itself has yet to be enhanced with new landscaping and beachside facilities.’

Mr Gore said there would be lots of heavy construction traffic once work started on the foreshore park, which has been delayed but he expected it to start later this year.

‘We had hoped to establish foreshore park this year but works have been delayed by a series of factors, including technical issues relating to construction works on the beachfront,’ he said.

‘The works schedule heavily depends on weather conditions and site conditions. Peet will continue to provide updates on the foreshore park as information becomes available.’

Since the first land sales in 2010, Peet has sold 650 lots in Shorehaven.
