A YOUNG Quinns Rocks teenager hopes to have a breakthrough in his magic career by performing on small screens this year.

Dewald Venter (19), who uses the stage name Ghupi, entered Channel 9’s television competition Australia’s Got Talent in March.

Ghupi said he was keeping his tricks secret ahead of the television auditions, but he planned to include a ‘powerful mentalism performance’.

The show will air in August, with Dawn French, Geri Haliwell, Timomatic and Kyle Sandilands on the judging panel.
