Road safety and TravelSmart officer Ryan Gibson received the Department of Transport’s TravelSmart Local Government Champion award.
Mr Gibson has been involved in the Your Move Wanneroo and TravelSmart schools and workplace programs, handles public requests regarding speed zones, parking and infrastructure and works with school RoadWise committees promoting road safety.
Mayor Tracey Roberts said his knowledge had provided “invaluable advice and expertise” for various policies and program development projects in the City.

READ NOW“This has led to the creation and adoption of new policies that will ensure the City of Wanneroo is a supportive and safe environment for people to walk, ride and use public transport,” she said.
“The City of Wanneroo team goes above and beyond to make our community a great and safe one and Ryan is a perfect example of that commitment.”
