Tourist plane makes emergency landing in WA’s north at Bungle Bungles airstrip

NINE people have made a miraculous escape after a tourist plane was forced to make an emergency landing in the Bungle Bungles overnight.

Police have reported the emergency landing took place between 4.30pm and 4.50pm, saying the plane had eight passengers and one pilot.

The pilot and passengers were flown to Kununurra by another plane.

Five people, including the pilot, were taken to Kununurra Hospital with minor injuries.

The other four passengers, who were not injured, were taken to their accommodation in Kununurra.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has been advised of the incident.
