Materno Biwot was speaking yesterday morning before the body of his son, who was to turn 14 in May, was recovered from the water.
‘We don’t want to lose him to the sea, our hope is to get his body,’ Mr Biwot said.
Jenon had walked with his cousin and friends to the unpatrolled surfing spot from Clarkson for a swim before becoming the second person in less than two months to drown there.
Mr Biwot said he had spoken to his son’s friends who had tried to save him.
