TRAIN services will be cancelled from Joondalup to Butler stations to allow for major works on the Mitchell Freeway extension project over the long weekend.
The works will include the installation of bridge beams at Hester Avenue and an underpass to Currambine Station.
Contractors will also be boring under the freeway at three locations to establish Intelligent Transport Systems services.
The last full line train on Friday, June 3, will leave Perth at 6.55pm and Butler at 7.41pm, resuming for the first service on Tuesday, June 7. Rail replacement buses will run between Joondalup and Butler.
Construction will affect traffic elsewhere around the freeway extension site this month, with reduced speed limits in place during intermittent night and Sunday works along Wanneroo Road between Hall Road and Flynn Drive and on Hester Avenue from Ridgewood Boulevard to Wanneroo Road.
