As well as achieving a Certificate II in civil construction, Woodvale Secondary College student Glendon Kruger (18) won the top trainee award from the academy, which is based at Tamala Park.

Adam O’Hare (17), from Mindarie Senior College, was awarded best all rounder.

More than half of the graduates have gained jobs in the construction industry, including Glendon, who was the first 2015 graduate to be employed by Ertech Electrical.

Ertech Holdings chairman Jim Giumelli told graduates they should be prepared for any kind of work and to do it well.
