WATERFRONT Park in Alkimos will transform into a mystical world of mermaids, pirates and fairies on Sunday.

Developer Peet will host a free community event, Treasures of Shorehaven, at the coastal park on November 3 from 9am to 1pm.

Activities will include a treasure dig competition, a treasure hunt led by pirates through the Treasure Island Adventure Playground, inflatable castles in the Pirate Cove and a chance to meet mermaids at the Mermaid Lagoon.

There will also be a Birds of Prey interaction, Gypsy Snake Charmer, face painting, food, music, dancing and prizes, including tickets to Perth Scorchers matches.

Peet managing director and chief executive officer Brendan Gore said events such as Treasures of Shorehaven were central to building communities in developments.

“Last year the inaugural Treasures of Shorehaven attracted 3500 people, a testament that the community enjoys local events where their kids can play, families can meet each other and all have a great time in the community,” he said.

Food will for sale from the Shore Cafe, Oceans 27 Restaurant and food trucks on site.
