ANGLERS are being lured to Two Rocks this month for the second Reel It In fishing competition.

Empire Events Management is organising the April 21 event at Two Rocks Marina, with fishers from all over Perth invited to take part.

The competition will give fishers an opportunity to show off their skills while raising funds for Two Rocks Volunteer Marine Rescue Group.

“All proceeds from the registrations go to Two Rocks Volunteer Marine Rescue, so this competition is very important to us,” group commander Bill White said.

Event organiser Virginia Dziegielewski said prizes included BCF vouchers as well as three months free trailer boat storage from Two Rocks Boat Lifters.

“Reel It In is a special event which attracted more than 120 entrants last year,” she said.

“There will be a mystery weight for each fish category and the closest to the mystery weight will win the prize.

“Prizes are $100 and $200 gift vouchers from BCF. There are four major prizes and seven minor prizes.”

Mrs Dziegielewski said developer for The Reef, Two Rocks estate would sponsor the competition to provide recreational activities for the area.

“Two Rocks Marina is the jewel in the crown of Two Rocks. Most people who live here are connected to the water in some way, while people from all over Perth travel here to launch their boats to enter our pristine coastline.”

Weigh-in and presentations will take place at Tavern @The Rocks, Two Rocks from 12pm.

Entry costs $10 per adult shore fishing and $5 per child, or $20 per boat.
