TWO Rocks resident Scott Jessamine captured footage of two “cheerful” dolphins while on a boat off Mindarie on the weekend.
The Yanchep Surf Life Saving Club volunteer posted the video filmed about 5.30am on Saturday on his Facebook page, Saltfix.
“We were fishing approx five miles out north of Mindarie when these two dolphins came up to the boat and said ‘hello’,” he told the Times.
“I grabbed the GoPro and gently lowered myself into the water so as not to scare them off.
“They were very inquisitive and cheeky and seemed to be enjoying playing with me.
“I feel very privileged to have spent time with these amazing mammals.
“Swimming with these graceful, wild creatures was the highlight of a stunning morning at sea.”
Mr Jessamine said the dolphins were “amazingly smart, playful and a bit cheeky, their kind but wise eyes and cheerful clicks made me feel at ease”.
