TWO Rocks Primary School held a crazy hair day this month to raise funds for Pancare.

Teacher Lauren Stokes said a family at the school had been affected by pancreatic cancer, and students and staff dug deep to raise $480.55 for the charity.

On the same day, students learnt about waste management

“The upper years learnt about composting and created their own mini compost pots out of coffee, vegetable scraps and garden clippings,” Miss Stokes said.

“They have been looking after them and enjoy seeing the different materials breakdown.

“The lower years collected recyclables to create the most outrageous hats during their art lesson.

“In the afternoon they had a hat parade to show off their creations.

“Everyone learnt about recycling and really enjoyed their hands-on approach towards waste wise management.”
