Two Rocks Yanchep Residents Association seeks new venue

Lucy JarvisNorth Coast Times

TWO Rocks Yanchep Residents Association (TRYRA) is pushing to relocate from Yanchep Community Centre to the Oldham Park clubrooms for alternate meetings.

President Peter Wimsett said the association wanted to use the clubrooms for its Yanchep meetings now that the expansion project was completed.

“There’s much more car parking than at the community centre,” he said.

Mr Wimsett said it was good to see play equipment had been installed at Oldham Park again after the previous playground was removed for the expansion.

At the group’s September 26 meeting at Phil Renkin Recreation Centre in Two Rocks, one woman said she was disappointed fitness equipment had not been installed there too, and asked TRYRA to request it at nearby Longfin Park.

Wanneroo councillor Linda Aitken said there would be a formal opening on October 19.

TRYRA’s next meeting is in Yanchep on October 24 from 7.30pm.
