Vehicle Found to be Cause of Eglinton Fire

The incident was reported at 11.41pm last Tuesday night and the fire burned for most of Wednesday morning.

The fire burned in scrub east of Marmion Avenue and north of Pipidinny Road, towards Yanchep National Park before it was brought under control.

It burned through about 12ha.

The incident occurred during a harvest and vehicle movement ban in the City of Wanneroo, which prohibited the use of engines, vehicles, plant or machinery and any actions likely to cause a bushfire, such as welding and grinding.

As well as firefighters from Wanneroo Central Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade and the Department of Parks and Wildlife, The Salvation Army Emergency Services was also on hand to provide breakfast to about 80 workers.
