Physical education teacher Calandra Smith said the visiting professors were researching sex education in high schools around the world and visited Perth from August 25 to 29.
‘They wished to observe a lesson on sexual health in a high school; how the information was delivered; activities and strategies used and how the students responded,’ she said.
Miss Smith said after observing the class on August 27, they discussed what subjects covered sexual education in WA, what resources were used, teacher training and the effectiveness of sexual education.
She said the Sexual Reproductive Health WA schools coordinator and education consultant met the group before they visited Butler College.
The group was led by professor Noriko Hashimoto from the Kagawa Nutrition University.
