MINDARIE Regional Council is looking for volunteers to help plant native trees and shrubs in Tamala Park this month.

The northern suburbs waste management council will hold a National Tree Day event on Wednesday, July 24 from 9am to 1.30pm to improve the local environment at 1700 Marmion Avenue.

It will provide a barbecue lunch and refreshments for volunteers, who will have to wear personal protective equipment and should be at least 10 years old.
