WA airport re-opened after suspicious item

AN airport in Western Australia’s Pilbara region has been reopened after being evacuated over a suspicious item that was brought in by a passenger.

Karratha Airport was cordoned off while the object was assessed by police on Friday morning.

The passenger who brought the item was questioned.

“There will be delays but the public are now allowed access,” Karratha Police tweeted.
