WA Police charge Malaysian man (31) over Easter crash near Lancelin

A MALAYSIAN man (31) is facing Joondalup Magistrates Court today in relation to a serious crash in Breton Bay near Lancelin over Easter.

Major Crash investigators have charged the man with four counts of careless driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and two for careless driving causing bodily harm* relating to the April 16 crash.

“It is alleged about 1.20pm, a Toyota Corolla sedan driven by a 31-year-old man collided with a Mazda hatchback driven by a 52-year-old man on Indian Ocean Drive,” WA Police spokeswoman Susan Usher said.

“The collision caused the Mazda to roll over several times.

“There were two passengers in the Toyota and three passengers in the Mazda.

“A 31-year-old man received serious injuries and he along with two other people were airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital.

“The other occupants of the vehicles were taken to the Joondalup Health Campus.”
