WANNEROO Council has set aside a decision to refuse plans for a 28-unit development in Yanchep following a State Administrative Tribunal appeal.

The council replaced its March decision to refuse the plans for 30 Bewick Avenue with conditional approval at its July meeting.

Applicant Capital Industries altered plans for the three double storey buildings during the SAT appeal to address reasons for the original refusal, including how it addressed the street front.

The City received five submissions during public consultation of the revised plans in May, with three objecting to the proposal based on its compatibility with the surrounding area and increased traffic.

The council report said it was likely to generate 206 vehicle trips per day and the road network could accommodate that.

The plans include 14 three-bedroom, eight two-bedroom and six one-bedroom units, as well as 42 onsite parking bays and four street parking bays.
