THE City of Wanneroo will hold a special council meeting on Tuesday to consider a confidential report relating to Moorpark Avenue in Yanchep.

The council will meet from 6pm on June 7 at the Wanneroo Civic Centre to consider issues relating to development and access for properties on the road.

Several residents raised concerns about a proposal to change a road reserve adjacent to their properties into a residential block at an April council meeting.

“If a building goes there it will block off the driveway, carport and front of the house,” one resident said.

At the time, chief executive Daniel Simms said staff would arrange an onsite meeting with residents.

A confidential report listed on the May 17 briefing agenda was withdrawn before the May 24 council meeting.

According to the City’s website, members of the public can attend the June 7 meeting.

“An opportunity will be provided for questions relating to the purpose of the meeting,” it said.

“No deputations will be given prior to the meeting.

“During discussion of the confidential item the meeting will be closed to members of the public.”

The agenda, without details of the report, will be available from the Civic Centre or the City’s website www.wanneroo.wa.gov.au from Friday, June 3.
