ALKIMOS homeowners have received garden makeovers through a waterwise partnership.

Shorehaven at Alkimos developer Peet partnered with the Water Corporation’s The Forever Project to encourage people to have waterwise gardens.

Darren Yates was one of the homeowners who received a garden makeover, with the project team spending three hours transforming his Keelson Way property on April 30.

The Forever Project representative Lisa Passmore said preparation was key for the garden, which features flowering native plants.

“We use high-quality products to prepare the ground, including organic fertiliser, premium soil conditioner with clay and a soil-wetter,” she said.

“There are four garden design options to choose from and all designs include native plants as they flourish in the environmental conditions experienced at coastal locations.”

“This is one of the best gardens we have delivered and the exciting thing for the team and the home owner is how the garden will transform again over the next 12 to 18 months as the young plants and trees mature.”Mr Yates said he learnt handy gardening tips and was pleased with the outcome.

“This garden is waterwise and very low maintenance, which is a real bonus, because this is an investment property, so it’s a perfect result for me and the future tenants,” he said.

“I look forward to seeing the plants and trees grow over the coming months and not having to spend lots of time gardening.”
