POLICE are investigating whether fatigue was a factor in a single vehicle crash on Indian Ocean Drive in Wilbinga this afternoon.

WA Police spokesman Sam Dinnison said there were no serious injuries and St John Ambulance took the male driver to Joondalup Health Campus for assessment.

“Police are investigating where fatigue is a factor in this crash,” he said.

Police had closed the road southbound between Hovea Road and Military Road for about three hours.

In a separate incident, police received a call about an explosive device at Moore River near Indian Ocean Drive and Greenwood Coast Road in Breton Bay about 12.40pm today.

The caller had found a marine marker cartridge while fishing there about 2pm yesterday and later found out it was deemed an explosive device.

Mr Dinnison said police would investigate and recommended people contact police immediately if they found similar devices.

“As soon as you find these items, you phone police,” he said.

“We liaise with army or navy and we dispose of them safely with those defence personnel.

“If it’s just a shell casing, we dispose of it ourselves.”
