The sand bag and rock revetment is designed to safeguard the area against severe erosion.

Sand filling to the north of the groyne and construction of a limestone retaining wall will provide further protection against erosion and help preserve what remains of Fred Stubbs Park.

All works are scheduled to finish in June.
