THE Quinns Rocks Environmental Group (QREG) and Mindarie Regional Council are teaming up to reduce plastic use in the community.

QREG spokesman David Wake said they would hold a workshop on June 27 to ask people if they could live with less plastic.

“Disposable plastic is all too common but there are many ways we can reduce plastic packaging and throwaway products in our daily lives,” he said.

“The workshop will look at the impact of single use plastic and discuss and demonstrate practical actions to cut back.”

Participants can learn how to make vegetable produce bags, yoghurt and bread wraps, and get tips on living with less disposable plastic.

The Plastic Free July challenge asks people to refuse single use plastics or cut back on the big four throwaways – plastic bags, bottles, takeaway coffee cups and straws.
