MATTERS of the heart came to the fore at Yanchep Beach Primary School on Valentine’s Day.

The school held its first free dress day on February 14, with its 680 students raising $687 for research into childhood heart disease.

“Sweetheart Day was a fabulous opportunity for the children at Yanchep Beach to raise funds and help our heart kids,” principal Paul Fuller said.

“Eight babies a day are born with childhood heart disease in Australia – that is eight too many.”
