Contractor R.W.E Robinson and Sons started working on the City of Wanneroo’s $224,000 project last month, with work expected to finish by the end of July.

At last week’s Two Rocks Yanchep Residents Association meeting, president Peter Wimsett welcomed the work but said he did not know why they needed two months to do it because ‘they put it up overnight’. The City installed the controversial structure dubbed the ‘sky bridge’ in 2009 and TRYRA members led a campaign to have it removed.

In 2012, the State Administrative Tribunal ruled the City should lower the boardwalk from 5.5m at its highest point to 2.1m above the natural ground level.
