Chairman Malcolm Gow said the group became incorporated on September 16 and joined the WA Men’s Shed Association earlier this month.
“We will put a lot of pressure on the City of Wanneroo to establish a site,” he said.

The Wanneroo council considered a report on the petition for a men’s shed at its September 13 meeting, noting that staff would provide the group with advice, including on developing a business plan.

READ NOWIt also noted that staff would develop a framework “to inform an equitable and consistent approach across the City to the establishment and ongoing support of community groups, including men’s sheds”.
The council report said a cornerstone of the men’s shed concept was that it would be community-led and owned.
Mr Gow said the group’s preferred site was next to the bowling greens at Yanchep Sports and Social Club.
