Yanchep Community Men’s Shed AGM to have special guest speakers

YANCHEP Community Men’s Shed will hold its AGM on Sunday following a general meeting to formalise the group on May 7.

Founding member Malcolm Gow said WA Men’s Shed Association promotions and development officer Mike Wiggin would be the guest speaker at the AGM.

The meeting will include inviting Butler MLA John Quigley to become patron and the election of a chairman, deputy chairman, treasurer, secretary and four committee members.

Mr Gow said members had been making wood products, such as pallet furniture, to sell to the public.

But he said the group needed more members to meet the current costs of renting a temporary premises until it secured a permanent facility next to the bowling greens at Yanchep Sports and Social Club.

The AGM will start at 11am on May 21 at the club, on Yanchep Beach Road, and will include a sausage sizzle.

The group currently operates from Unit 2, 7 Glenrothes Crescent from 9am to noon on weekdays.
