Yanchep men’s shed hosts health and wellbeing day

Staff WriterNorth Coast Times

THE Yanchep Community Men’s Shed will hold a Men’s Health and Wellbeing Day next month to promote its policy of looking after men.

The June 14 event at the Yanchep Sports and Social Club follows the success of last year’s event held for National Health and Welfare Week.

There will be several speakers and displays to give information to men, their partners and friends who attend, as well as activities to ensure limbs don’t freeze up if sitting down too long.

The shed received a grant from the Health Department as part of the WA Men’s Health and Wellbeing Policy launch.

Since last year’s event, members have made more than 100 cray pots, which they sell to raise funds, and completed about 10 projects for other community groups.

The event will start 9.30am with morning tea provided and free lunch of ‘Burger a la bun’ lunch with bar facilities open at the club on Yanchep Beach Road.

The Yanchep Community Men’s Shed runs on weekdays from 9am to noon in a workshop at 2 Glenrothes Crescent, Yanchep.
