Yanchep police charge nine people following drug searches

YANCHEP police have charged nine people after drug-related searches at six properties in the area.

Senior Sergeant Ben Huggett said officers had executed six drug search warrants over the past 10 days in early September.

“Out of that we’ve charged nine people with a total of 30 drug-related charges,” he said.

“This is a result of information from the public.”

Sgt Huggett said officers charged two Two Rocks men aged 52 and 23 with possessing methamphetamine.

He said they charged a 17-year-old boy and 45-year-old woman from Yanchep with several drug offences, including methamphetamine possession, and a 55-year-old man with several restraining order breaches.

The sergeant said police also charged another Yanchep boy with possessing cannabis with intent to sell or supply, and a 23-year-old Yanchep man with cultivating a prohibited plant.

Officers charged a Carabooda man (33) with cultivating cannabis and Yanchep man (39) with cannabis and drug paraphernalia possession, as well as cultivating cannabis.

Sgt Huggett encouraged people to continue reporting suspicious activity, including drug-related activity, to Crime Stoppers by calling 1800 333 000.
