Yanchep’s Orion Cafe hosting Australian-themed nativity play

Lucy JarvisNorth Coast Times

CAFE patrons will be turning away travellers in a mini nativity play at Yanchep Lagoon this month.

Resident Elena Lumsdaine is co-ordinating the Australian-themed play at the Orion Cafe on Brazier Road from 6pm on December 19.

Ms Lumsdaine said it was a free event, although people would need to book tables and a handful of members of the public would be involved, pretending to be inn keepers who turn Joseph and Mary away.

She said cafe owner Bernado Alalid would play the role of the last inn keeper, who allows the couple to stay in his “shack”.

“It will be decorated like the life savers club in Yanchep,” she said.

“Joseph and Mary lose their way to Bethlehem and find their way into Yanchep.”
