THERE have been several letters regarding supermarkets advertising items with prices ending in 99 cents and so forth.
More than just supermarkets do this and they are well within their rights to do so.
It is only when you pay by cash that the total is rounded up or down and should you purchase more than one item it is not every item that is rounded, only the end total of your purchases.

Check out all accounts you receive – utilities, rates, taxes, interest and anything weighed or measured like fuel, fresh foods and so forth.
They usually have a total ending in the odd cent and if you choose to pay cash the account total would be rounded up or down, again only a maximum of two cents
If rounding is a problem for you, pay by Eftpos and pay the exact amount. Simple.
