Police target hoons

We make no apologies for targeting hoons on our roads ” we would prefer to stop them before they kill themselves or an innocent road user.

It’s not just a bit of harmless fun and our statistics show that.

From 2009 to the end of June recklessness and speed were identified as causes in 617 fatal and serious crashes.

Those deaths and the terrible injuries sustained by the survivors have a life changing impact on many thousands of people, and an indirect impact on our entire community.

If you’re a hoon, we urge you to stop and think about these figures, and make the right choices when you are behind the wheel.

It is easier to correct poor driver behaviour than it is to repair a life left broken by a tragic and unnecessary crash.
